Rüdiger questionable against Atlético with knee soreness

Real Madrid defender Antonio Rüdiger is now questionable to face Atlético de Madrid in the Spanish Supercup Semifinal with left knee soreness, according to reports from the Spanish press. Rüdiger appeared to be healthy heading into this game but seems to be experiencing some discomfort on his left knee. If he ends up missing the contest, Raúl Asencio and Dean Huijsen would start in the center of the defensive line.

Rüdiger has been in and out of the lineup for a while now and it definitely looks like his body has entered a decline. His ability to stay healthy just isn’t there any more and Real Madrid could be looking to part ways with him when his current contract expires in the summer of 2026.
