Roger Bacon assistant football coach dies

Roger Bacon High School is mourning the loss of assistant coach Ron Meister, who was the director of football operations in the school program. He died Jan. 2.

Meister had been battling cancer. The school put on several fundraisers for him and cancer research during the season.

The school administration posted on its official X account: "We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Coach Ron Meister. He made a lasting impact on the Roger Bacon Football family and Roger Bacon family and he will be greatly missed. Please keep the Meister family in your thoughts and prayers."

The Roger Bacon boys golf account posted on X, “Today, the Roger Bacon Golf community mourns the loss of a great man and an excellent coach. Ron Meister was the living model of strength, courage, faith, & most of all, love. His example will hover over our teams in 2026. And beyond. Love wins. Rest in peace, and Hail Spartan!”

The Southwest Ohio Football Coaches Association posted on X, “Our hearts are heavy today as we mourn the passing of  Ron Meister. Coach Meister’s dedication to Roger Bacon and his membership to SWOFCA left a mark on us. He wasn't just a coach; he was a mentor who embodied the spirit of the game. He will be deeply missed by his peers.”
