Carolina Panthers fans may be getting exactly what they want this weekend.
Saturday's wild-card round matchup against the Los Angeles Rams will mark the team's first home playoff game in a decade. And given the special anniversary, the Carolina faithful have been clamoring for the organization to bring back the franchise's all-time leader passer and that season's Most Valuable Player, Cam Newton, to attend.

Well, according to Joe Person of The Athletic, the highly-anticipated return could be happening after all. Here's what Person wrote on Wednesday:
The Panthers have reached out to Cam Newton about beating the Keep Pounding drum before their wild-card game against the Los Angeles Rams and are optimistic the most iconic player in franchise history will attend, according to sources familiar with the discussions.
Newton's last on-field appearance at Bank of America Stadium came in 2021, in what was the final home game of his career.
