The Boston Red Sox have a brutal distinction:

They are the only team in MLB that hasn't made a free agent signing yet this offseason.
That became official when the Colorado Rockies signed Michael Lorenzen on Wednesday night, removing their name from that list.

The Red Sox haven't been entirely quiet.
They've swung trades for both starting pitcher Sonny Gray and first baseman Willson Contreras.
They also are believed to be heavily involved in pursuing both Alex Bregman and Bo Bichette, whose free agencies simply haven't reached conclusions yet.
It's still not the most encouraging place to be, though. The Red Sox may be in the most competitive division in baseball, and the rest of the AL East is making moves.

Boston will have to play at least a little bit of catch up, even beyond pointing to Gray and Contreras as important additions.
The Red Sox are too big a market to just ignore the free agent pool.
If they happened to miss out on Bregman and Bichette, things would get quite concerning. But at least if they get one of them, they'll have made out OK this offseason in the end.
