Ravens' Tyler Loop shares honest feelings after missed FG vs. Steelers

6 days ago 2

In one of the most exciting AFC North head-to-head matchups in recent memory, filled with back-and-forth touchdowns to close out the fourth quarter, it was ultimately a missed 44-yard field goal attempt from the Baltimore Ravens that gave the Pittsburgh Steelers the Week 18 win. And Ravens kicker Tyler Loop has since broken his silence.

Following Sunday Night Football, an emotional Loop expressed gratitude to the Ravens organization and the city of Baltimore before explaining what happened on the missed field goal.

“Operation was great. It was a great situation, exactly what we wanted. And unfortunately I just mishit the ball,” Loop told reporters. “We call it hitting it thin. It spins fast and goes off to the right. Yeah, that was it.”

The 44-yard field goal miss was Loop's first from 20–49 yards, as the rookie kicker had been perfect from that distance up until Sunday Night Football.

While the Ravens season is over, the Steelers postseason aspirations are just getting started, as the Houston Texans will head to Pittsburgh on Monday, January 12, at 8:15 p.m. EST to face off in the wild-card round of the playoffs.
