While it's still unclear when the Rangers will get the chance to activate goalie Igor Shesterkin and defenseman Adam Fox from injured reserve, they've already found some solace in the welcomed return of their captain.
J.T. Miller was activated from IR on Thursday, ahead of the Rangers' meeting against the Sabres that wraps up a brief two-game homestand. The veteran winger missed seven games with an upper-body injury, suffered on Dec. 20 against the Flyers.

As a member of Team USA for the upcoming Winter Olympics, Miller has recorded 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) across 35 games this season.
His activation comes at a trying time for the Rangers (20-18-6), currently tied for seventh place in a competitive Metropolitan Division race with 46 points. During their stretch without Miller, the team lost five of seven games, racking up six points.
