Rams TE sets franchise record with huge Week 18

The Los Angeles Rams offense put on a clinic in the second half of the team's 37-30 win over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 18. Matthew Stafford threw three touchdowns, including two to tight end Colby Parkinson.

Those touchdowns were significant for Parkinson and the franchise. With them, Parkinson finished with eight receiving touchdowns on the season. Not only was that a career-high for the six-year veteran, but it also set a Rams record for most touchdown receptions by a tight end.

The previous record was held by Damone Johnson, who had six touchdowns in 1988 from quarterback Jim Everett.

Parkinson finished the year with 43 receptions for 408 yards to go with his eight touchdowns — all of which are career-bests for Parkinson.

The former Seattle Seahawks tight end is in his second season with the Rams and has proven to be one of the more reliable pass-catchers for Matthew Stafford alongside Puka Nacua and Davante Adams. Parkinson took over as the team's starting tight end when Tyler Higbee went on injured reserve and he remained a top contributor with rookie Terrance Ferguson still progressing.

He has one year left on his contract, although without any guaranteed money left. Considering how well he's played in 2025, Parkinson could have played himself into a roster spot for 2026 and maybe even beyond.
