With the injury to Geno Smith, the Raiders had a chance to sign QB Cam Miller to the active roster as the third emergency QB. They didn't do that and the result was Miller has now been scooped up by the Dolphins off the Vegas practice squad.
Last week the Raiders sent four players to injured reserve. Giving them plenty of opportunities to sign Miller to keep him. But they instead went with G Atonio Mafi, S Terrell Edmunds, WR Shedrick Jackson, and DE Jahfari Harvey.

Miller was selected by the Raiders in the sixth round of this year's draft out of North Dakota State. The reigning FCS National Championship winning QB was one of two QB's the Raiders selected in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft. The other being Montana's Tommy Mellott who was moved to wide receiver. Mellott didn't make the team out of camp and now neither of them are with the team.
With Geno Smith expected to miss the finale vs the Chiefs with an ankle injury and now Miller gone, the Raiders will have no third QB on the squad. They are expected to start Kenny Pickett with Aidan O'Connell as the primary backup.
