Under contract with Paris Saint-Germain until June 2029, Vitinha is again linked with a move to Real Madrid by the Spanish press, but has reaffirmed in his home country that he is very happy in Paris, while opening the door to a possible return to FC Porto, or even the Premier League.
The orchestrator of a PSG team that swept all trophies in 2025, Vitinha was crowned the world's best midfielder on Sunday in Dubai at the Globe Soccer Awards, an annual ceremony founded by his agent, Jorge Mendes. This takes nothing away from the Portuguese player's exceptional year; quite the contrary, he was also voted "Figure of the Year 2025" by the Portuguese outlet A Bola.

Last Friday, a famous Spanish radio station (Cadena SER) revived speculation regarding Real Madrid's interest in PSG's maestro. The rumors have existed for months and were, until now, based on erroneous information, namely the existence of a supposed release clause for the player, which, however, does not exist (especially since the practice is prohibited in France).
According to SER and its journalist Pacojo Delgado, Real Madrid will not recruit in this winter transfer window, but would have indeed circled Vitinha's name for the summer of 2026. This source explains that if Real Madrid does not succeed in extending Vinicius Junior in the coming months, it will then seek to sell him in the summer of 2026 and use the money raised to try to recruit the Portuguese midfielder from PSG.
The Spanish radio station estimates a sale of Vinicius Junior at around 100 million euros, and therefore, the sum Real Madrid could offer PSG for Vitinha. SER further claims that Real Madrid's inner circle learned "that an agreement had been signed with Vitinha, who could leave for 100 million euros, provided the player wishes to leave and brings this minimum offer."
Until now, Vitinha has never expressed the slightest desire to leave PSG and even extended his contract last February until 2029, before winning all the most prestigious trophies with the club. In a wide-ranging interview given to A Bola on the sidelines of his "Figure of the Year" title, Vitinha repeated his happiness at playing for PSG.

The Portuguese outlet thus asked Vitinha if there was a manager he would like to work with before the end of his career, and here is what he answered: "To be consistent, I would say Guardiola. His style of play is very similar to that of Luis Enrique, with the same philosophy, and to mine. So I would be very curious to know what it would be like to be coached by him. But I feel very good where I am. I love being where I am, and I love my manager. That's all. It's important to say that."

During this interview, Vitinha also mentioned the idea of returning to the Premier League one day, he who had a failed loan spell at Wolverhampton during the 2020-2021 season: "English football is fantastic, especially for the spectacle it offers, and I have this bitter taste of not having experienced the best of the Premier League, namely the supporters. I was there during COVID. When I played, I played in an empty stadium. I would really like to one day see this league as it truly is, with full stadiums, with the spectacle it offers."

In another interview given to O Jogo, which named him "Personality of the Year 2025," Vitinha also discussed his future and a possible return to FC Porto, his beloved club: "There are two aspects: the rational and the emotional. On the rational side, I always have some reservations, because I know it's the last image that remains, and I don't know how my career will evolve, nor in what state I will be when this opportunity arises. I would like to return one day, but to help and not to crown my career. To return, I will need to feel capable of helping. If I do not feel that strength and energy, I will have to set aside the emotional aspect and think about the rational aspect, not for myself, but especially for FC Porto. I can say that I really want to, I would love to wear that jersey again, because I feel at home at the Dragao, but it depends a lot on the evolution of my career and also on the moment FC Porto is going through, because we always depend on the club's objectives and will. It's a question to be seen with time."
