The Detroit Pistons didn't have Cade Cunningham or Jalen Duren on Wednesday night.

No problem. They still had Isaiah Stewart.

And the big guy had a career night to carry the Pistons past the Chicago Bulls.

Stewart finished with a career-high 31 points.

Maybe even more impressively, he was 14-for-17 from the floor.

Stewart has been making the case all season for how underrated he is. He's earning attention for his great defense and rim protection in just a reserve role behind Duren.

But on this night, it was Stewart's offense that stood out.

He's always been gifted at that end of the floor, dating to his days playing high school ball in Rochester, N.Y. at McQuaid Jesuit, then in prep school in Indiana at La Lumiere, then in college at the University of Washington.

In the NBA, Stewart has mostly been counted on as a glue guy and an energy guy.

But clearly, the talent is still there. And given the chance to show it, Stewart shone brightly.
