With Penn State in the midst of overhauling its entire passing game with the transfer portal now officially open, one of Penn State's graduating seniors made it clear he is not ready to hang up his football cleats just yet. Liam Clifford took to social media to announce he intends to pursue his professional football dreams by declaring for the 2026 NFL draft.
"I want to thank Penn State University for the unforgettable memories and relationships that I will cherish for the rest of my life," Clifford said in his released statement on his Instagram account. "With that being said, I am excited to announce that I will be declaring for the 2026 NFL draft."

Clifford caught three passes for 25 yards while appearing in 12 games during the 2025 season. Clifford saw a reduced role in the passing game last season compared to the 2024 season, when he caught 18 passes for 286 yards and a touchdown while appearing in all 16 games played during Penn State's run to the College Football Playoff semifinal.
Clifford is hoping to follow his older brother into the league. Former Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford was a fifth-round draft pick of the Green Bay Packers in the 2023 NFL draft. Clifford is currently on the Cincinnati Bengals practice squad.
