Penn State will be looking for some new top receiving targets next season. Already set to lose its top three wide receivers to the NFL, the Nittany Lions are now watching the top tight end on the team enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
Luke Reynolds, a former five-star recruit in Penn State's Class of 2024, is reportedly entering the transfer portal, according to Pete Nakos of On3.

Reynolds was Penn State's fourth-leading receiver in the 2025 season with 26 receptions for 257 yards. He also had two rushing attempts for 26 yards. Reynolds was the top-ranked tight end in the Class of 2024 and figures to be an attractive transfer candidate in the portal this year.
Penn State already has one tight end in the transfer portal with the early departure of Joey Schlaffer. Schlaffer was the first player to leave the team and reportedly make the decision to transfer from Penn State, doing so in early November after the school fired James Franklin as head coach. Penn State will be bringing back Andrew Rappleyea for the 2026 season. Rappleyea caught 20 passes for 180 yards and three touchdowns and had a critical touchdown in the Pinstripe Bowl win over Clemson to close out the season.
The NCAA transfer portal opens Friday (Jan. 2) and remains open through Jan. 16. During that time, any player can enter the transfer portal. Once the transfer window closes, no players can enter the transfer portal until after next season. The only exceptions are for the two schools in the College Football Playoff championship game and any program that hires a new coach. Players taking part in the national final have a special five-day window following the game to enter the portal.
