Another former Iowa State player will join Penn State's offense next season, this time in the wide receiver room.
Junior Brett Eskildsen announced his commitment via X, formerly known as Twitter, on Sunday evening. He becomes the ninth former Cyclone to commit to Penn State so far out of the transfer portal. Eskildsen led Iowa State in receiving last year with 526 yards and five touchdowns on 30 receptions.

Eskildsen is a former three-star recruit from Frisco, Texas, who ran a 10.70 100-yard dash in high school. He burned his redshirt in 2024 primarily as a special teamer and emerged as a starting receiver for Iowa State last season. He will be reunited with quarterback Rocco Becht, who also announced his commitment to Penn State on Sunday.
Eskildsen projects as a starter for the Nittany Lions, who will look quite different at wideout next year. Their top four wideouts from last year, Kyron Hudson, Trebor Peña, Devonte Ross and Liam Clifford, are all out of eligibility. Penn State did get good news with freshman Kobe Howard and redshirt freshman Tyseer Denmark announcing their returns for 2026, who could see significant steps alongside Eskildsen.
