Penn State landed a veteran linebacker via the transfer portal on Sunday night.

Former Iowa State linebacker Caleb Bacon announced that he will join the Nittany Lions for his final year of eligibility, reuniting with head coach Matt Campbell in Happy Valley. He's one of 11 former Cyclones who have committed to Penn State so far, with likely more to come.

Bacon ranked third for the Cyclones last season with 68 total tackles and had a team-leading three sacks. He projects as a starting linebacker for Penn State alongside senior Tony Rojas, who announced his return on New Year's Day.

Bacon will help the Nittany Lions' linebacking corps make up for the loss of Amare Campbell, who entered the portal on Sunday. Bacon's Iowa State teammate, Cael Brezina, will also transfer to Penn State to play linebacker in new defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn's defense.
