New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye commented on the negative talk surrounding the team's "easy schedule" ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Miami Dolphins.
The second-year signal-caller pointed to the fact that nothing comes easy in the NFL.

“We play in the National Football League. Every team's got great players," Maye told media members. "They get paid a lot of money. It’s not like we’re playing Foxborough High School down the road. We play whoever is on our schedule, and we can't control that. Just try to go out there and win. A lot of these teams that we do play are good, and they're in the National Football League for a reason."
The Patriots have taken the league by storm this season, compiling a 13-3 record and winning the AFC East division for the first time since 2019. It has been a remarkable turnaround for a team that only won four games in the previous two seasons.
Everyone has an opinion on the strength of schedule, but the truth is that the Patriots don't hand-pick their own schedule. They play who is in front of them and do everything they can to win that particular matchup.

Simply showing up and playing football to the best of their ability is all they can do.
