Patriots make move on Will Campbell, Milton Williams before Week 18

The New England Patriots have heavy reinforcements on the way after the team announced that both defensive tackle Milton Williams and offensive tackle Will Campbell have been activated from injured reserve ahead of the regular-season finale.

Williams has been sidelined since the Week 11 meeting with the New York Jets with a high ankle sprain, while Campbell has been out since Week 12 with a sprained MCL. Both players returning for Sunday's game against the Miami Dolphins, a week out from the playoffs, is a huge boost for the Patriots.

Before going down with the injury, Campbell was already establishing himself as one of the best young left tackles in the NFL. He served as a burgeoning elite protector for second-year quarterback Drake Maye by dishing out more pancakes than IHOP on the NFL football field.

Meanwhile, Williams was a major force for the Patriots' defense, which has gone off a cliff since he's been gone.

He also adds a boost to the pass rush as a capable defender who can split the defense and make plays up the middle. You would be hard-pressed to find a better defensive tackle combination in the league than Williams and Christian Barmore.

The Patriots are expected to play all of their healthy players, including Campbell and Williams, against the Dolphins in Week 18.
