Panthers make decision on G Robert Hunt's status for matchup vs. Bucs

The Carolina Panthers won't have Pro Bowl guard Robert Hunt at their disposal for tomorrow's huge NFC South showdown against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Hunt, as announced on Friday afternoon, has been downgraded out of Saturday's matchup at Raymond James Stadium. The standout offensive lineman, who has been sidelined after tearing his biceps in Week 2, was initially listed as questionable for the contest after practicing throughout the week.

Head coach Dave Canales spoke about Hunt's progress on Thursday.

"Rob was able to do a little bit more, but we gotta see how his body responds tomorrow—and that's why it's questionable right now," Canales told reporters. "We were able to kinda ramp up his work, but it's like the recovery of, 'What does this thing feel like the next day? Where are we at in terms of full football readiness?'"

Austin Corbett is likely to make his fourth straight start at right guard in Hunt's stead.

Carolina also ruled out wide receiver David Moore. Moore has missed the last 12 games due to an elbow injury.
