The Carolina Panthers were "without" their leading rusher on Tuesday.
Running back Rico Dowdle has been estimated as a non-participant from the team's walkthrough this afternoon. Dowdle was sidelined with a toe injury, one head coach Dave Canales believes won't be much of a problem ahead of Saturday's huge matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"Yeah, he's got a sore toe," Canales told reporters after the session. "A little bit more sore than normal, and so we just decided to give him a rest day. I'm pretty confident that he'll be able to go. But we gotta just take it day by day, see what he can do tomorrow."
Dowdle has tallied 229 carries for 1,066 yards and a career-high six touchdowns. He rushed for 59 yards, his most since Week 9, in this past Sunday's 27-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
