Panthers G Robert Hunt bullish on his chances of playing vs. Rams

Carolina Panthers right guard Robert Hunt seems awfully positive about his chances of returning for Saturday's playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams.

Hunt spoke with reporters from his locker following Wednesday's practice, where the team ramped up his activity to test out the progress of his arm. And after missing the last 15 games of the regular season due to a torn biceps, the Pro Bowl offensive lineman sounds pretty encouraged about suiting up for the wild-card round.

"This week has been pretty good. Running around, moving around," Hunt stated. "Obviously, it's not the game. We're not in camp, so it'll be a little different to tell from that standpoint.

"But moving around good, the body feels good, I'm kinda quick on my feet. So that's good. I feel good. If I get the opportunity, I'll be ready."

Hunt added that he simply wasn't ready this past Saturday, when the Panthers took on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a shot to clinch the NFC South on their own. That, obviously, did not happen—as Carolina ate a crushing 16-14 defeat.

But Hunt will have another chance to get back on the field, for the franchise's first postseason contest since 2017.

"We'll see how it goes," Hunt later said. "I'm an optimistic guy in general. Anything I do in life. I'm not just saying it. I really am. I'm very optimistic. So, yeah, I am optimistic."

The Panthers are expected to release their injury report from today's session later this evening.
