The Carolina Panthers' opponent for their first playoff game in eight years is now set, and it's one they've already met up with this season.
Next weekend's wild-card round will see the NFC South champion and No. 4 seed Panthers host the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams settled into the No. 5 seed and secured their tickets to Charlotte on Sunday evening, after defeating the Arizona Cardinals.

Head coach Dave Canales, who spoke with reporters after clinching the division title, was asked if there's an advantage to taking on a team that the Panthers played earlier in the campaign.
"It's an opportunity to correct some things that we wanted to correct and try to replicate things that were successful for us," Canales replied. "But, it gives you a little bit of familiarity and confidence to know, 'Okay, this is a team we've seen before and we've played 'em tough.'"
Well, Canales' crew did play Los Angeles rather tough back in Week 13—when they captured a shocking victory at Bank of America Stadium. The upset saw the underdog Panthers upend the then-No. 1-seeded Rams en route to a 31-28 win.
The date and time for their rematch is expected to be announced later tonight, following the conclusion of the AFC North battle between the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers.
