GREEN BAY – The Green Bay Packers held practice in Lambeau Field on Jan. 8, two days ahead of their NFC wild-card playoff game at Chicago. Packers coach Matt LaFleur said it’s due to the field conditions being better than on their practice field.
The Packers had just one player on the active roster sit out when they held practice.

The team placed all-purpose player Bo Melton on injured reserve and activated linebacker and special-teams standout Nick Niemann off injured reserve Jan. 7.
Here’s the latest from practice:
Zach Tom injury update
Packers right tackle Zach Tom didn’t participate in the Jan. 8 practice.
LaFleur said during his pre-practice news conference that it’s a rest day. Tom missed the past three games of the regular season after exiting the Broncos game Dec. 14 with knee and back injuries. LaFleur said earlier this week that he expects Tom to be available for the wild-card matchup against the Bears.

“He’s looked good in practice,” LaFleur said Jan. 8. “But we’ll see. Like I tell you all the time, we’ll give him up to game time. If he can go, he’ll be out there.”
Dontavyion Wicks injury update
Packers receiver Dontayvion Wicks is still in the concussion protocol, per LaFleur.
Wicks has practiced all week in a limited capacity. He suffered a concussion during the Ravens game Dec. 27 and missed the following game against the Vikings.
