The Green Bay Packers officially added cornerback Trevon Diggs to the 53-man roster on Thursday after claiming the former Pro Bowler off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday.

The Packers had an open roster spot and did not need to make a corresponding move.

Diggs, 27, was a second-round pick (No. 51 overall) of the Cowboys in the 2020 draft. He played in 66 career games with the Cowboys, producing 20 interceptions, 63 passes defensed, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and two tackles for loss. He led the NFL in interceptions (11) and interceptions returned for touchdowns (2) in 2020, his first Pro Bowl season and his only All-Pro season. He was named to the Pro Bowl again in 2021 after intercepting three more passes.

Injuries have limited Diggs to only 21 games over the last three seasons. He did not intercept or defend a pass over eight games with the Cowboys in 2025, and he was waived by the team on Tuesday.

The Packers were the only team to put in a waiver claim for Diggs, who will cost the team roughly a half-million dollars on the salary cap to end the 2025 season.

Diggs is joining a cornerback group defined by declining performance and season-ending injuries. Both Keisean Nixon and Carrington Valentine have struggled down the stretch in 2025, while Nate Hobbs (knee) and Kamal Hadden (ankle) were both placed on injured reserve this week.

Diggs, a close friend of Micah Parsons, will wear No. 28 with the Packers.
