Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver Jakeb Snyder announced his intentions to enter the NCAA transfer portal on Monday night. The redshirt sophomore is a local product from Bixby, Oklahoma, and he spent three seasons at OU. As a former walk-on, Snyder played in just two games for the Sooners, with both coming in 2024.
Snyder played defensive back in Norman for his first two collegiate seasons, before making the switch to wideout ahead of this year. In high school, he helped lead the Bixby Spartans to three consecutive Oklahoma 6A-1 state championships.

Snyder was the first-ever recipient of the Baker and Emily Mayfield Foundation Walk-On Scholarships. The Mayfield's presented Snyder with the $10,000 scholarship this past summer.
Oklahoma is awaiting the stay-or-go-pro decision of leading target Isaiah Sategna III in the wide receiver room, to see how aggressive they'll need to be in the portal at that position. The Sooners are set to lose pass catchers Deion Burks, Jaren Kanak and Keontez Lewis, as all three have exhausted their collegiate eligibility. However, they hope to bring back Javonnie Gibson and Jer'Michael Carter, who could be in for bigger roles in the offense in 2026.
