NORMAN — Oklahoma football is hiring former Dallas Cowboys star tight end Jason Witten as its next tight ends coach.
FootballScoop first reported the news.
Witten's name had been rumored heavily in recent weeks.

The likely future Hall of Fame tight end has spent the past five seasons coaching at Liberty Christian High School in Argyle, Texas.
The 43-year-old Tennessee native played with Sooners running backs coach DeMarco Murray in Dallas.
Joe Jon Finley, who had coached OU’s tight ends since 2021, was fired on Jan. 1.
Witten will coach a re-built OU tight ends unit that added Florida transfer Hayden Hansen and Colorado State transfer Rocky Beers.
