The Chicago Bears are coming off two losses to close out the regular season, but they're gearing up for their most important game in recent history when they host the Green Bay Packers in a wild-card matchup Saturday night at Soldier Field.
After their first two meetings came down to the wire, including Chicago's thrilling overtime comeback in Week 16, the Bears and Packers will meet with all the stakes on the line in what should be one of the most anticipated matchups of Wild Card Weekend.

One former Bears player who knows the ins and outs of the Packers rivalry is one of the greatest in franchise history, former center Olin Kreutz, who had great advice for this 2025 team. During an appearance on 670 The Score on Monday, Kreutz detailed how the Bears have to stay in the moment against the Packers and not get too high or too low on themselves through the flow of the game.
"There's going to be a lot of energy in the city this week, right?" Kreutz said. "There's going to be a lot of energy in that stadium and they're going to have to control themselves over there at Halas Hall. Make sure that they are executing, that they are doing the things that they have to do, not try to do too much, really stay in the moment to win the football game.
"It's a big game, man, for both cities and I played in the NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers, the feeling and wanting to win for the city and wanting to do good, can get overwhelming. So it's something that they should talk about there. They they should really approach and say, look man, I know what it's going to feel like, the city's going to feel like this, but we just got to beat the Green Bay Packers here, execute our game plan, stay in the moment, make the right calls."
Kreutz added that he's excited to see what head coach Ben Johnson does with this team in his first big playoff moment, taking on a bitter rival in the Packers. The Bears' players and coaching staff will say all the right things to not overhype the matchup, but there's no denying that the intensity and meaningfulness for this game will be beyond significant on Wild Card Weekend.
