STILLWATER —The Cowgirls had all the momentum. Then it all came crashing down in about 12 minutes.

After leading by as many as 19 points late in the third quarter, the Oklahoma State women's basketball team suffered a stunning 77-68 loss to No. 22 Baylor on Wednesday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The Cowgirls made just three of 15 shots from the field in the fourth quarter, getting outscored 29-8 in the final 10 minutes.

Taliah Scott scored a game-high 24 points in her return from injury for the Bears (12-3, 1-1 Big 12).

Jayden Wooten scored 16 points to lead the Cowgirls (12-3, 1-1), but she fouled out in the second half.

Late-game foul trouble

Three minutes into the fourth quarter, the Cowgirls still led by double digits. But then the Bears kept scoring, and the Cowgirls kept missing. Suddenly, what was once a 19-point lead had vanished, and the Cowgirls were down seven with just seconds on the clock.

What happened?

OSU had three players in foul trouble. Wooten fouled out with 4:23 left and OSU up by five points. Then Stailee Heard fouled out. Micah Gray and Amari Whiting sat at four fouls each. Achol Akot had three.

Baylor head coach Nicki Collen said Wooten's exit was a game-changer.

"We were able to get stops," Collen said about the game after Wooten fouled out.

Roster depth

There is no doubt the Cowgirls had to change their game plan after all the foul trouble. But there's also no doubt that the Cowgirls are a tough team to beat.

Collen praised Wooten's performances not just this game, but this season as a whole, as a player who is a tough task to shut down and guard.

Homecourt advantage

Despite the game being played at 2 p.m. on a Wednesday during the university's winter break, 4,259 fans still took their orange seats at Gallagher-Iba. A minority of green and yellow-wearing fans could barely be heard for most of the game, as OSU fans made some noise.

The Cowgirl faithful has been a huge help for the team. This loss marks OSU's first at home since early January, when the Cowgirls lost 75-66 to Kansas. The streak would have reached one year with a win over Houston on Jan. 3.

"You've worked this into a place no one wants to play," OSU head coach Jacie Hoyt said to fans after the game. "You guys have been so good to us in 2025. This is only the second game we've lost at home this year. I'm really sorry we couldn't get this one done."
