Oklahoma Sooners pursuing Akron transfer offensive tackle Maasai King

1 week ago 2

On the first day of the transfer portal window that runs from January 2 to January 16, the Oklahoma Sooners have offered another trench player. Earlier Friday, defensive tackle Cody Sigler announced his offer from Oklahoma. Now, it's Akron offensive tackle Maasai King announcing an offer from the Sooners.

King played one season at Akron after attending Lackawanna College in the junior college ranks. He played in 12 games for Akron and earned seven starts. According to Pro Football Focus, King allowed 17 total pressures and two sacks in 315 pass block snaps in 2025. In his one game against Power Four competition, he allowed just one total pressure against Nebraska.

He played all 524 snaps last season at right tackle and provides the Sooners an intriguing option to compete for snaps along the Sooners' offensive line.
