Former Bowling Green linebacker Gideon ESPN Lampron picked up an offer from Oklahoma on Friday, the first official day of the transfer portal opening.

Lampron, whose middle name is pronounced 'Ess-pen,' with 119 tackles, including 17 1/2 for-loss. Those totals third and second in the Mid-American Conference, respectively, while earning Lampron first-team All-MAC honors at his first year at the school. He had previously played at FCS Dayton.

A 6-foot-0, 220-pounder, Lampron did not earn any recruiting evaluations or stars coming out Keystone High School in LaGrange, Ohio. But his 99 tackles, which included 23 1/2 for-loss, during his second season with the Flyers showcased an ability to play at the FCS level. After registering similar numbers in the MAC, it appears Lampron could find his way to power-conference football next.

Oklahoma could bodies at linebacker, which was one of the team's most productive positions in 2025. Kip Lewis led the team with 76 tackles but is a potential top-three-round pick if he were to enter the NFL Draft. Owen Heinecke, who finished second on the team with 74 tackles, is appealing for another year of eligibility after playing lacrosse during his first collegiate season. And Kobie McKenzie, who was largely expected to be a first-teamer this year but instead saw back-up rotation, entered the transfer portal.

The Sooners finished the 2025 season with an appearance in the College Football Playoff, falling to Alabama in the first round.
