Oklahoma is "Last Team In" NCAA Tournament in ESPN Bracketology

Heading into Southeastern Conference play, the Oklahoma men's basketball team sits squarely on the NCAA Tournament bubble.

The Sooners didn't move in Joe Lunardi's latest Bracketology update for ESPN. OU rates as the "Last Team In" to the Dance if the season were to end today. It's one spot ahead of his its rival Oklahoma State, which rates as the "Last Team Out." Oklahoma won the game between the two back on Dec. 13.

Coach Porter Moser's squad begins its SEC run Jan. 3 at home against Ole Miss. The Rebels are not among Lunardi's teams in the tournament, nor in the "Last Four Out" or "Next Four Out" portions. Oklahoma could do itself a strong favor by starting with a win against Ole Miss and in game two at Mississippi State, which is also not included among the field.

Ten SEC teams are projected as in the NCAA Tournament as of Dec. 30, though. Vanderbilt is highest with a projected No. 2-seed as the Commodores are the only undefeated team in SEC play. They also have yet to play a ranked team this season and much should be learned Jan. 9 when they play at No. 14 Alabama, which carries a 4-seed in Lunardi's projections.

Tennessee and Florida are each No. 5-seeds, Arkansas is a No. 6, Kentucky a No. 7, Georgia and Auburn are each No. 8s, LSU is a No. 10 and Oklahoma rounds things out as a play-in against Butler for No. 11 seeding.

Connecticut, Michigan, Iowa State and Arizona all earned top seeds in Lunardi's projection, matching the current AP Top 25 poll. Joining Oklahoma and Butler among the "Last Four In" are Ohio State and Miami (FL).
