Ohio State kicker enters the transfer portal

1 week ago 2

It's transfer portal season in college football, and while Ohio State has historically stayed away from mass defections, there are still certain players who will be looking to move on to greener pastures. One of those players is backup kicker Jackson Courville.

The transfer portal already spit Courville out to the banks of the Olentangy last offseason, and many thought that he would be the eventual starter and supplant Jayden Fielding, who has had some inconsistencies. Courville last kicked for Ball State, where he made 26-of-34 field goals but he never had an opportunity to show what he could do in games for Ohio State. Now, he will look to finish his college career with two years of eligibility remaining elsewhere.d

His departure means OSU won't have a kicker on the roster for next season. The Buckeyes will have to either bring in a kicker through the transfer portal or bring in another recruit through the high school ranks.

As always, we'll continue to stay on top of all of the transfer portal news as players come and go through the mystical, Zainey world that both gives and receives.
