Ohio State defensive lineman enters his name in transfer portal

4 days ago 2

It's hard to keep up with the new reality of the transfer portal, but the news seems to come out multiple times a day now for Ohio State, now that it has been eliminated from the College Football Playoff after a loss to the Miami Hurricanes in the Cotton Bowl.

The latest player to enter his name in the transfer portal is defensive tackle Maxwell Roy, who hasn't even used up a year of eligibility after waiting his time as a true freshman this past season.

Out of St. Joseph's Prep in Philadelphia, Roy committed to Ohio State in the class of 2025 as a four-star prospect. He was ranked as the No. 36 defensive lineman in the class according to the 247Sports Composite rankings. Roy makes it 21 total Buckeye players that have now entered the transfer portal in an offseason that seems to be the wave of the future. Roy will still have four years of eligibility left whenever he lands at his new destination.

There are no reports on where Roy is leaning, but as this and other transfer portal nuggets take shape, we'll continue to bring them to you as fast as we can.
