The Nebraska Cornhuskers have made a significant addition via the transfer portal. Notre Dame quarterback Kenny Minchey committed to Nebraska on Sunday.

Minchey competed for the Irish's starting quarterback job in 2025 but lost to CJ Carr. He appeared in six games this season and finished 20-of-26 passing for 196 yards and ran for 84 yards and a touchdown.

Nebraska went to the portal for a quarterback after the departure of starting quarterback Dylan Raiola. The newest Husker is considered a dual-threat option for offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen.

Minchey has two years of eligibility remaining.
