Miami has now increased its win total to 19 games on the season and is sitting in the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

In the win, first-year member of the Heat, guard Norman Powell, had himself another electric outing.

Norman Powell leads all players in points, three-pointers made in win over Pistons

Powell, 32, was just two points shy of his season-high, finishing with 36 points, two rebounds, and two assists while hitting seven three-pointers. Jaime Jaquez was the Heat's next best scorer with 19 points and adding three rebounds and five assists.

The lingering injuries Powell battled for much of the season appear to be behind him. Miami has also needed someone to step up as the team continues searching for answers behind Tyler Herro, whose toe injury has limited him to just six games this season.

Through 28 games, Powell is now averaging 23.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 steals while shooting 47.9% from the field.

After missing out on his first career All-Star bid in 2024-25, Powell is making another strong push for his first career appearance.

The Heat will look to carry this momentum over to Saturday, as they take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
