No Respect: Bears Labeled Underdogs in All Potential Home Playoff Games

1 week ago 2

Even though the Chicago Bears are going to be one of the top four seeds in the playoffs for the NFC, people still aren't taking them seriously.

Chicago is in position to either take home the No. 2 or No. 3 seed in the NFC, depending on what happens on Sunday. With a win over the Detroit Lions or a Philadelphia Eagles loss to the Washington Commanders, the Bears will be the No. 2 seed and face the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card.

With a loss to Detroit and an Eagles win, things could get interesting. That would set up a rematch with the San Francisco 49ers or the first meeting of the season with the Los Angeles Rams for Chicago.

Regardless of what happens, Chicago will be hosting either of those teams. The crazy thing is that the sportsbooks are not favoring the Bears at home.

Kay Adams recently revealed on X that FanDuel Sportsbook has the Bears as an underdog in each potential Wild Card round matchup.

The Packers are 1.5, the Rams are 4.5 and 49ers are 1.5 favorites all at Soldier Field.

This is especially interesting considering that the Bears have a 6-1 record at home this season. Their loss was the 27-24 defeat by the Minnesota Vikings in the season opener. Since then, Chicago has been a perfect 6-0.

The Bears recently played the Packers and 49ers. Chicago beat Green Bay 22-16 in overtime and fell 42-38 to San Francisco in Week 17.

Sadly, this is nothing new for the Bears. After clinching the top seed in the NFC back in December, the Bears were disrespected in Super Bowl odds heading into Week 14. Chicago didn't even scratch the top 10 for the best odds.

One thing Bears fans know is that this team can always find a way to win, even in the face of disrespect like this. The number of times people have written this team in the fourth quarter is proof enough.

In the most recent Packers game, the Bears were down 10 points in the fourth quarter and rallied back to win in overtime.

Fast forward to Week 18, and the Bears have won the NFC North and are 11-5 heading into the final game. The sky is the limit for this team; it will all come down to whether they can play up to their potential.

The regular-season finale with the Lions is set for 3:25 p.m. CT on Fox.
