NFL insider reveals key pressure point behind John Harbaugh’s firing

6 days ago 2

It has been an interesting couple of days. This past Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers met for the 44th time with John Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin as the respective head coaches. Both have been in hot water all season. The winner of Sunday night's game would earn the AFC North's crown and a postseason berth. There was speculation that the loser would find himself in more hot water.

Harbaugh was unfortunately that loser. Two days later, he was given his walking papers. Ladies and gentlemen, John Harbaugh has been fired as Ravens head coach.

The national pundits have discussed some of the possible reasons. The Athletic's Senior NFL Insider, Diana Russini, believes his refusal to move on from Todd Monken was one of the key pressure points from what was described as a long and honest conversation between Harbaugh and Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti.

Russini has also identified recently fired Kliff Kingsbury as a possible replacement for Harbaugh in Baltimore. Here is that report.

Harbaugh won't be unemployed long if he wants to get right back into coaching. Since his firing, several NFL teams, at least seven by Adam Schefter's count, have already called Harbaugh's agent to inquire about his interest level.
