Six NFL franchises parted ways with their head coaches before the Baltimore Ravens dismissed theirs. Then, it happened. Once John Harbaugh's name was added to the list of fired candidates, there was an obvious shift.
The Ravens and Harbaugh are all that seemingly every national platform wants to dedicate its time to. Who disagrees? Ask yourselves honest questions. How much Tennessee Titans news did you hear on Tuesday evening and Monday morning?

We heard some talk about the New York Giants. Strangely, that's mostly because they've been rumored as being Harbaugh's next destination, but here comes a curveball. There seems to be some disagreement over what facilitated Harbaugh's exit in the first place.
Adam Schefter refutes Ian Rapoport's claims of an unhappy Ravens locker room.
As the dust settled after the heaviness of Harbaugh's dismissal, the expected questions followed. One of which seemed the obvious ask. What was the final straw that broke the camel's back?
It's easy to understand why there was curiosity. Harbaugh came within three points of leading the Ravens to a third consecutive AFC North title. Included in the fallout was Ian Rapoport's report that Baltimore's now-former head coach had lost the locker room.

Rapoport is a national NFL insider for NFL Network and NFL.com. Schefter is ESPN's Senior NFL Insider. It appears the latter refutes the former's claims of locker room dissension.
Let's address the elephant in the room here. All of these insiders work tirelessly and do their jobs well. We've also seen each of them miss the mark from time to time. It doesn't happen very often, but it does happen.
Time will tell who is right and who is wrong, but an era of football begins without John Harbaugh at the helm. Baltimore has more important things to think about.
Harbaugh was ultimately fired because he didn't get his team to the mountaintop. That will be expected of the next coach. The new guy isn't being brought in to win games and get this team back to the playoffs. He is being brought in to win a Super Bowl.

Now, ask yourselves a question. Of the possible candidates who have been named, who has the best chance at accomplishing that task? Why does it feel like the man who can was just dismissed on Tuesday evening?
