The New York Giants' head coaching search will hit its stride after Sunday's finale against the Dallas Cowboys.
Interim head coach Mike Kafka's seven-game audition will come to a close, and general manager Joe Schoen will begin to meet with a large field of candidates, including Kafka.

Kafka is not favored to win the job on a full-time basis. Many believe the Giants are leaning towards hiring a defensive-minded coach to fill the role.
Two of the names should be familiar to you: Steve Spagnuolo and Lou Anarumo. Spagnuolo has had two stints with the Giants as their defensive coordinator (2007-8, 2015-17) and also served as an interim head coach.
Anarumo was also with the Giants in 2018 as their defensive backs coach. The 59-year-old Staten Island native has been coaching in the NFL since 2012. He has held the position of defensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins, Cincinnati Bengals, and, most recently, the Indianapolis Colts.

Anarumo is well-liked and highly-regarded around the NFL. The Giants will likely conduct an interview, but he has never been a head coach at any level in his 35-year coaching career, and that will significantly influence the Giants' decision.
Anarumo was interviewed for the Giants' head coaching position back in 2022. They hired Brian Daboll. Two offseasons ago, Anarumo was a finalist for the Arizona Cardinals' head coaching job, which went to Jonathan Gannon.
