Cornerback Trevon Diggs, who was claimed by the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday, is at practice with the team on Thursday and wearing the No. 28 uniform, per Rob Demovsky of ESPN.

Diggs previously wore No. 27 (as a rookie in 2020) and No. 7 (2021-25) with the Dallas Cowboys. Both numbers are currently taken in Green Bay -- safety Kitan Oladapo has No. 27, while linebacker Quay Walker has No. 7.

Diggs wore No. 7 in college at Alabama and No. 1 in high school at The Avalon School. Micah Parsons, Diggs' close friend, became the first Packers player since Curly Lambeau to wear No. 1 this year.

The last Packers player to wear No. 28 in a regular season or postseason game was running back A.J. Dillon in 2024. Linebacker Isaiah Simmons wore No. 28 for the Packers during the preseason.

Coach Matt LaFleur said it's possible Diggs will play in the regular season finale against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
