Nation's No. 6 transfer WR commits to Georgia football

The Georgia Bulldogs have landed their second transfer portal commitment of the offseason in Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets wide receiver Isiah Canion. Canion committed to Georgia after visiting the Bulldogs. He's one of the top receivers in the transfer portal and is expected to be an immediate contributor in Athens.

Canion and Clemson Tigers transfer safety Khalil Barnes are Georgia's two transfer commitments right now. The Bulldogs need wide receiver help because Dillon Bell, Cole Speer, Colbie Young, Noah Thomas and Zachariah Branch are all headed to the NFL draft.

Canion brings a good combination of size and speed to UGA. Canion, like Barnes, is a local recruit. He played high school football for Warner Robins like Georgia defensive back Rasean Dinkins. After Canion's commitment, Dinkins said "this what we dreamed of family" to Canion via social media.

In 2025, Canion posted 33 receptions for 480 yards and four touchdowns (most on Georgia Tech). The 6-foot-4, 215-pound receiver has two years of eligibility remaining. He had four catches for 54 yards in Georgia Tech's defeat to Georgia.

247Sports ranks the rising junior as a four-star transfer. He's the No. 26 player in the country and the No. 6 receiver in the transfer portal.

Canion's transfer has to hurt for Georgia Tech head coach Brent Key, who hates Georgia. Key lost one of his top players to Georgia Tech's biggest rivals.
