Nashville SC has waived forward Tyler Boyd, the club announced on Jan. 8.
Boyd appeared in 30 games across all competitions during his two seasons in Nashville, totaling three goals and four assists. He'll remain on waivers for 48 hours and if no MLS club claims him during that time, he will become available to any team on a first-come, first-served basis.

Boyd, who turned 31 in December, had one season left on his contract with an option for 2027. He earned $1,105,000 in 2025, making him NSC's fifth-highest paid player in terms of guaranteed compensation.
The onetime United States men's international came to Nashville before the 2024 season in a trade with the LA Galaxy and was a regular starter on the wing before tearing his ACL in a game against Orlando City. After more than a year away, he recovered to make six appearances (one start) in 2025, registering one assist.
Nashville has made several offseason moves at winger, which was perhaps its deepest position group. It traded Jacob Shaffelburg to Los Angeles FC in December and signed forward Cristian Espinoza, considered one of the top attackers on the free agent market, to a designated player deal.
