Myles Garrett breaks NFL sack record, surpassing Steelers' T.J. Watt

1 week ago 2

Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers might not like it, but Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett has done the unthinkable and broken the single-season NFL sack record, previously co-shared by T.J. Watt and Giants legend Michael Strahan.

Despite being held in check for almost four quarters, Garrett finally got his sack on Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, beating left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. around the edge to secure his place in the history books.

Back in 2021, Watt tied the single-season sack record with 22.5 sacks in just 15 games, one game fewer than it took Strahan to set the record back in 2001.

Although it took Garrett an additional two games to surpass Watt by just half a sack, his 2025 season was filled with defensive dominance and consistency that led to this historic moment.
