Mizzou adds Auburn’s Horatio Fields to receiver room

Mizzou Football has had a busy day in the portal and it just landed its ninth commit of the cycle in Auburn receiver Horatio Fields.

Fields announced the news on his Instagram, and he becomes the third Auburn player to flip to Missouri for the upcoming season.

This is a big addition for the Tigers who will be without a bulk of their receiving room from last year. Kevin Coleman Jr. is out of eligibility while Joshua Manning and Marquis Johnson have already found new homes in the portal. The former will be headed to Kansas State while the latter is packing his bags for Mississippi State. Fields becomes the second receiver that Missouri has secured in the portal this offseason with Cincinnati’s Caleb Goodie being the first.

The Douglasville, Georgia, native was a three star product out of high school selecting Wake Forest over schools like Army and Ball State. After a quiet first season, he had a productive second collegiate year, finishing with 39 catches for 463 yards and 39 catches before hitting the portal.

Following his sophomore season, he packed his bags for Auburn. In his lone season with Auburn, Fields played in four games with one start before his season was cut short due to injury. Fields broke his foot during Auburn’s matchup against Texas A&M. In his four appearances, the senior posted 12 catches for 106 yards and a touchdown. Fields has one year of eligibility remaining.

With Goodie and now Fields, Drinkwitz is starting to lay out what Mizzou’s receiver room might look like next season. I’d expect the Tigers to add at most one more receiver this offseason. Alongside the two transfers, expect Donovan Olugbode and Shaun Terry II to have increased roles this offseason. Class of 2026 commits Devyon Hill-Lomax and Jabari Brady also join the room this offseason as freshman.
