After getting multiple wins against the defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, the San Antonio Spurs have lost two games in a row. This was surprising because they were playing out of their minds against the Thunder, but it was two horrible shooting nights.

Spurs head coach Mitch Johnson has a healthy starting lineup after a long time, but it appears that they need more time to mesh with each other. Victor Wembanyama and De'Aaron Fox are the top players on the roster, but they might need to build better chemistry.
Johnson sees bright potential in the future for the Spurs
Wembanyama played more of a screen-setter role against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night. Johnson wanted to put pressure on the rim, and he succeeded in building the dynamic between Fox and his star center.
Unfortunately, it has not led to a good result, as the Spurs lost 113-101. In the previous game, just before the loss to Cleveland, they also lost to the Utah Jazz. That was one of the most disappointing results of the year, considering the Jazz is one of the worst teams in the league.

As the season progresses, the Spurs can be a much better team. They have a good roster spearheaded by Wembanyama and Fox. It will be challenging to succeed, but it appears that Johnson is ready to keep building good chemistry.
"The process, unfortunately, the biggest thing has to be time. There is an approach and a game plan that I have to lead and support them in. There is a togetherness and a commitment to play together, to use each other's strengths, to gain advantages together, and let the basketball find the open man," Johnson said after the loss to Cleveland.
Of course, injuries have played a role for the Spurs. They are not at full strength, yet, because Wembanyama is still dealing with some small injuries. Moving forward, they would hope that the healthy roster will be maintained.

In the long run, the Spurs have a bright future that could lead to them getting some big wins. They already have success over the Thunder, so they will want to maintain that level of success.
