Michigan State losing senior offensive lineman to transfer portal

1 week ago 2

Michigan State football will be losing an offensive lineman to the transfer portal, with Pete Thamel announcing that Kris 'Big Dooley' Phillips will be moving on from his time in East Lansing.

Phillips was a member of the Spartans 2022 recruiting class, coming to East Lansing from Conyers, Georgia. A three-star recruit, he started to make traction in the offensive line's playing group, but injuries derailed his seasons in both 2024 and 2025.

According to PFF, in his career at MSU, Phillips excelled in pass blocking, averaging over an 80 grade, but fell short in run blocking with an average grade in the 50s. Ultimately, after back to back seasons ended in injury, it was time for both parties to part ways.
