Michigan State hockey had an active winter break, with some key members of the team heading to the World Juniors Ice Hockey Championships, others stayed at school, helping the Spartans win the 2025 Great Lakes Invitational for the second straight season.

Following the MSU wins over Ferris State and Michigan Tech, while sprinkling in an exhibition win over the United State National Development Team, the Spartans moved up a spot in the latest USCHO rankings.
