Michigan State football losing redshirt freshman OT to transfer portal

4 days ago 2

The transfer portal giveth, the transfer portal taketh away. The same week that Michigan State football picked up a huge win in the transfer portal, landing offensive tackle Ben Murawski from UConn, the Spartans have now lost one of their more promising young linemen, as redshirt freshman offensive tackle Rustin Young has officially entered the transfer portal.

Young is the third MSU offensive tackle to enter the portal this offseason, following starter Stanton Ramil and Ashton Lepo. Young was a 4-star recruit in the 2024 class and showed some good flashes this past season. The Spartans will now almost certainly be dipping back into the portal again to shore up their line. While the starting spots are probably secure with Conner Moore and Murawski, the Spartans will want to start the development process on some other linemen for the future.
