Michigan State football has made another splash in the transfer portal, adding an experienced player to the quarterback room. The Spartans have picked up the commitment of Cam Fancher, a UCF quarterback transfer.

Fancher has been around the block a time or two in college football, having played for Marshall, Florida Atlantic and UCF. Fancher has experience playing in Spartan Stadium, being the starting quarterback for the Owls in the 2024 season opener that Michigan State won, 16-10.

A Dayton (OH) native, Fancher prepped at Wayne High School, before joining the Thundering Herd's 2021 recruiting class. Fancher then spent three years at Marshall before playing a season at FAU, then a season at UCF. He will use his last year of eligibility in East Lansing as the main insurance policy for Alessio Milivojevic.

In his career, he has played in 37 games, throwing the ball 503-for-834 (60.3%) for 5,627 yards, 27 touchdowns and 23 interceptions. Using his legs, he has ran the ball 362 times for 1,292 yards and nine touchdowns.
