The Miami Dolphins' general manager search took off on Monday with 5 names thrown out by NFL Network.
The Dolphins, whose season ended Sunday with a loss at New England, have requested permission to interview the following candidates:

San Francisco 49ers VP of Player Personnel Tariq Ahmad.
San Francisco 49ers director of scouting and football operations Josh Williams.

Last week, the Dolphins hired Hall of Fame quarterback Troy Aikman as a consultant to assist in their search for a general manager. A league source said Dolphins owner Stephen Ross selected Aikman because of his widespread NFL contacts and a desire to have an outside voice in the search. Dan Marino, an advisor to Ross, also will assist, giving the Dolphins two Hall of Fame quarterbacks helping with the search.
Chris Grier was fired in October after the team's disappointing start to the 2025 season and Champ Kelly has been acting as interim GM in the aftermath.
