The Las Vegas Raiders had a scare when they lost star defensive end Maxx Crosby to injury late in the season, and fans began to wonder how serious his injury situation might be once he was placed on injured reserve late in the season. The answer ended up being pretty serious, but Crosby took the first step towards his eventual return on Wednesday.
Crosby successfully underwent surgery on his meniscus and is set to begin his recovery. That quickly circulated online. Such a surgery recovery typically takes 3-6 months to heal.
Crosby's last appearance of the season came against the Houston Texans, where he had six tackles in a 23-21 loss. He finished his season with 73 tackles, 10 sacks, two forced fumbles, and one interception. The seventh-year veteran is a five-time Pro Bowl selection and two-time All-Pro selection.

When Crosby does make it back to action, he will be playing for a different coach, as the Raiders parted ways with head coach Pete Carroll after just one season at the helm, which ended with a 3-14 record. The Raiders will now look for a new head coach for the second consecutive offseason. Crosby has played for five different head coaches during his tenure with the franchise.
