Manchester City have taken the lead in the race to sign Mathys Detourbet (18) from Troyes, according to a report from L’Équipe. Several clubs have shown an interest in signing the French forward after an impressive start to life in the French second division.
The 18-year-old has made 33 appearances for his formative club, scoring 1 goal and registering 3 assists across all competitions. His eye-catching profile and impressive skill at such a young age have seen the list of clubs interested in his services grow long. Roma are the only club to have submitted a formal offer for the Frenchman in the region of €10m. However, Monaco and several German clubs would also like to sign Detourbet.

Manchester City in control of Detourbet’s future
The Premier League club have now taken the lead in the race to sign the France youth international and is in control of his future. Due to the two clubs both being owned by City Football Group, this reduces the complications required to negotiate a deal, providing Manchester City with a greater opportunity than other interested clubs.
